<description>Welcome to Books and Boards Pod! Long distance sisters Kayla and Rachel love nothing more than a good book and a board full of their favorite snacks.
Living so far apart, they got tired of texting about their latest reads - so now they’re here to talk about it! If you love stories and snacks, this podcast is for you! A book club for people without one, if you will.
From mystery to romance and everything in between, this podcast pairs well with a cozy spot, a charcuterie board, and a community of fellow book lovers.
In each episode, you can expect Kayla and Rachel to cover the ins and outs of their current read, while working through discussion questions and sharing their own silly stories along the way. Each episode, you’ll leave with questions of your own to think about and/or bring back to your own book club.
Tune in every other Tuesday for some quality time… book club style!
Make sure to follow along @booksandboardspod on Instagram to stay up to date with what they are reading, which book is next on the shelf, and how to curate the perfect charcuterie board to pair with the current read.

<description>In this episode of Books and Boards, Kayla and Rachel cover The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. They discuss the disturbing events that unfold in this story, and Rachel gets to gush on all things art therapy! In the next episode, they'll be covering another spellbinding mystery, The Au Pair by Emma Rous.
BOOK CLUB QUESTIONS:
1. What would it be like to be silent for that long? Do you think you would survive without communicating with others for so long?
2. What did you think about a professional psychotherapist quitting their job and starting a new one specifically to see a patient? Did that feel like appropriate behavior?
3. Do you think people study psychology or enter helping professions to heal themselves?
4. How did you feel hearing from Alicia through her diary and from others, but not from her directly even though she’s a main character?
5. Many people were confident that Alicia was guilty, but Barbie, her neighbor, was just as confident that she wasn’t guilty. Did you think that Alicia was guilty throughout the book? Did you have any other suspects?
